BBC Media Action office catches fire
22 February 2015, Nirapad News: Fire has broken out at BBC Media Action office in Gulshan 2 in the capital. The fire erupted at the top floor of the eight-storey Concord IK Tower around 8:38 am on Sunday.
Baridhara Fire Service Warehouse Inspector Milon Mia said its is being suspected that the fire broke out from an electric short circuit.
Later, five units of the fire service went to the spot and doused the blaze around 9:10 am.
“No one was injured in the fire which broke out at Concord IK Tower. However, the furnitures and electronics of a room of the office was gutted in it,” he said.
Meanwhile, another fire broke out at the ground floor of a 17-story under construction building at New Eskaton around 8:55 am.
On information, three units from the fire service went to the spot and doused the blaze at 9:10 am. No causalities were reported.
Fire Service control room duty officer said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at the sub-station of the building.
