BBIN motor rally to cover 4,223-km in 19-day
14 November 2015, Nirapad News: The Bangladesh-Bhutan-India-Nepal (BBIN) Friendship Motor Rally 2015 is set to kick off from November 14 (Saturday) from Bhubaneswar in India.
It would cover 4,223-km in 19 days in three countries by around 22 vehicles and 80 participants would achieve a new milestone in regional integration among four countries.
Starting from Bhubaneswar it will pass through Ranchi, Patna, Siliguri, Gangtok, Phuentosholing, Timphu, Guwahati, Silchar, Agartala, Chittagong, Dhaka and Kolkata among other various other places.
Ceremonial Flag off by the Chief Minister of Odisha in presence of the ambassadors of Bangladesh, Bhutan & Nepal in Bhubaneswar will be held on Saturday.
Formal flag off will be held from Asian Highway 45 in Bhubaneswar to cross National Highway 6 in Baripada on Sunday morning. After having lunch at Rairangpur, the rally will cross Jamshedpur and will stay in Ranchi.
On November 16, staring from Ranchi, it will cross Hazaribag, Barhi, Jhumari Taleiya, Koderma, Bihar Sheriff, Bakhtiarpur and stay that night in Patna.
On November 17, flagging off from Patna, the rally will pass Muzafarpur, Madhubani, Forbesgan, Dalkhola and stay the night at Siliguri.
On November 18, staring from Siliguri, the rally will cross 114-kilometer hilly highway and stay in Gangtok.
Later on November 19, a seminar will be held in Gangtok to be inaugurated by India’s Sikkim state chief minister.
Flag off from Gangtok, the rally will pass Pedong, Rishop, Lava, Chalsa and night halt at Phuentosholing on November 20.
Flag off from Phuentosholing, it will cross 168 kilometers and night halt in Thimpu on November 21.
November 22, a seminar will be held in Thimpu on BBIN.
Starting from Thimpu, the friendship rally will crass Dochula, Sephu-Chazam Trongsa and night halt at Bhumthang on November 23.
The following day, fagging off from Bhumthang, the rally will cross 185 kilometers and stay the night at Mongar.
Flag off from Mongar, the rally will run through Trashigang, Samdrup Jongkar, Rangia and night halt in Guwahati on November 25.
On November 26, the rally will start from Guwahati and cross Shillong and stay at night in Silcher after crossing 344 kilometers.
On the 14th day, starting from Silcher, the rally will reach Agartala crossing 290 kilometers and stay here at night.
On November 28, flagging off from Agartala, it will cross Belonia, Poshuram, Feni and night halts in Chittagong where the participants will be accorded with civic reception by Rotary International.
On November 29, staring from Chittagong, the rally will reach Dhaka where a civic reception by Rotary International will also be accorded to participants.
On November 30, a seminar will be held in Dhaka on Signing of Protocol, Nodal Officers Meeting and Road Safety.
After flagging off from Dhaka, the friendship rally will end in Kolkata after crossing Jessore, Benapole and Petrapole on December 1.
Flagging ceremony by the West Bengal transport and highways minister, in presence of the state chief minister will be held on Victoria Memorial premises.
Lastly, a seminar will be held in Kolkata on December 2.
The Kalinga Motors Sports Club, in association with the union ministry of road transport of India, will organize the rally.
Government and non-government representatives, including a team of journalists, from four neighboring counties will join the upcoming rally.
The “BBIN Friendship Motor Rally 2015” will wade through places of historical and political importance of four countries.
Earlier on June 15, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal (BBIN) signed a regional motor vehicle agreement, paving the way of movement of both people and goods among the four SAARC member countries.
