BD becoming ‘most known’ investment destination
02 February 2015, Nirapad News: Chinese Ambassador in Dhaka Ma Mingqiang has said Bangladesh is becoming the ‘most known’ investment destination attracting more and more Chinese investors.
He made the remark while addressing a function – ‘China-Bangladesh Friendship Photo Exhibition’ at a city hotel marking Bangladesh’s 40 years of bilateral relations with China.
Prime Minister’s Political Affairs Adviser HT Imam, Bangladesh-China People’s Friendship Association (BCPFA) Secretary General Shahriar Zaman Sumon, among others, spoke at the inauguration ceremony held with acting President of BCPFA Mohammad Bashirullah in the chair.
The diplomat said China is emerging as one of the biggest export destinations for Bangladeshi products, while Chinese companies are actively involved in mega projects in Bangladesh like Padma Bridge.
On the 59 photos, exhibited at the exhibition, the Ambassador said these photos are ‘snapshots’ of some memorable moments of Bangladesh-China friendship.
“History has proven that Bangladesh and China are time-tested friends,” said Ambassador Ma adding that the cooperation and interaction between the two countries have been growing on all fronts.
HT Imam said Bangladesh-China relations stand on mutual respect for sovereignty, equality, territorial integrity and non-interference.
The speakers said both Bangladesh and China are committed to further promoting comprehensive partnership of cooperation and such exhibition of recorded historic moments with many rare and unseen photographs will surely help further boost the bilateral ties.
The visitors at the exhibition laid emphasis on arranging such photo exhibition regularly in Bangladesh’s educational institutions so that Bangladeshi students can learn more about the historical moments caught on cameras since the 1950s.
The two governments decided to establish a closer comprehensive partnership of cooperation from the strategic perspective and on the basis of the principles of long-standing friendship, equality and mutual benefit.
