BD women being trafficked to Syria as sex workers
05 November 2015, Nirapad News: There are allegations that women are being trafficked to war-torn Syria from Bangladesh as sex workers and domestic help. The women are being lured with the prospect of jobs in different countries in the Middle East and but once they are taken out of the country, they are being sold in Syria as sex workers. Voicing deep concerns over the issue, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has recently informed the government about the matter and stressed the need for immediate action to stop women trafficking. The elite law enforcement agency informed the government that at least 43 were already trafficked to Syria. It also asked the foreign ministry to take necessary measures to bring them back.
