BGB destroys drugs worth Tk 2.80 cr in Joypurhat
17 August 2015, Nirapad News: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Joypurhat destroyed smuggled drugs and narcotics substances worth about Taka 2.80 crore at Joypurhat cement factory field here this morning.
Commander of BGB-3 Battalion Lt Col. Abdur Razzak, Additional Director BGB Rangpur zone Brigadier General M Mahafuzur Rahman, BGB Dinajpur Sector Commander Col. Khalekuzzaman, PSC, Deputy Commissioner Abdur Rahim and Superintendent of Police Mulla Nazrul Islam were present at the time of destroying the smuggled drugs.
The destroyed drugs include – 41,615 bottles of Indian phensidyl, 880 bottles of wine, 401 bottles of beer, 14-kg ganja, 18,516 ampoules of injection, 195 syrup bottles, 100 pieces of yaba tablets, 89,224 packets of different fireworks and other drugs.
The BGB-3 battalion recovered and seized the illegal drugs from different areas of the district.
