Bhutan’s Queen Mother arrives in Dhaka
14 March 2016, Nirapad News: Queen Mother of Bhutan Tshering Pem Wangchuck and also the President of Youth Development Fund (YDF) has arrived in Dhaka Monday (14 March) morning on a five-day visit.
A flight of DrukAir, carrying the Queen Mother of Bhutan and her entourage members, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 8:45am.
Foreign ministry secretary (bilateral) Mizanur Rahman welcomed her at the airport.
She is leading a six-member team of the Youth Development Fund (YDF), including Princess Chimi Yangzom Wangchuck, Vice President of YDF.
The YDF is a voluntary organization that manages and provides resources to various youth development projects in Bhutan.
Sources concerned said during the visit, the Queen Mother would visit the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum this noon and pay visit to a showroom of Kumudini Handicraft in city’s Gulshan area in this afternoon.
She will also pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday (March 15) said a press release of External Publicity Wing of Foreign Ministry.
She would visit one of BRAC’s regional offices to see BRAC programs.
The Queen Mother’s visit would also include visits to the Beximco Industrial Park to see textiles, garments and ceramic enterprises; the National Museum and other places of interest.
The Queen Mother would depart for Bhutan on Friday (March 18).
