Blogger Rajib murder hearing on March 18
08 March 2015, Nirapad News: Police investigation into the murder revealed Islamic fanatics were behind the killing on February 15, 2013. A Dhaka court has fixed March 18 for indictment hearing in the murder case of blogger Ahmed Rajib Haider.
Rajib, an architect by profession, was an activist of Ganajagaran Mancha, a secular movement pressing for maximum penalty for convicted war criminals.
On January 28 last year, police pressed charges against eight people seven North South University students and extremist group Ansarullah Bangla Team chief Mufti Jashim Uddin Rahmani.
The NSU students are Faisal Bin Nayeem alias Deep, 22, Maksudul Hassan Anik, 23, Ehsan Reza Rumman, 23, Nayeem Sikder Irad, 19, Nafis Imtiaz, 22, Sadman Yasir Mahmud, 20, and Rezwanul Azad Rana, 30.
Rana, a leader of Jamaat-e-Islami student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir, is absconding.
All but Sadman have confessed to their crimes in court.
