BNP alliance calls another 72 hrs hartal from Sunday
21 March 2015, Nirapad News: The BNP-led 20-party alliance on Saturday called another 72-hour spell of hartal from 6 am on Sunday demanding the release of its detained leaders and activists and the safe return of missing BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed alongside its ongoing countrywide indefinite transport blockade.
The BNP alliance made the announcement through a press release signed by BNP joint secretary general Barkat Ullah Bulu.
The hartal is also meant for registering the 20-party’s protest against forced disappearance, abduction, extrajudicial killings, torture and arrest of the party men.
The shutdown will end at 6:00 am on Wednesday if it is not extended further as the alliance did earlier seven times.
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia enforced the blockade for an indefinite period on January 5 after having failed to come out of her Gulshan office to join a planned rally of the 20-party alliance in the city to mark ‘Democracy Killing Day’.
