BNP candidate boycotts Comilla municipality election
20 March 2016, Nirapad News: BNP candidate boycotted Nangolkot Municipality election and demanded re-election in all eleven polling centers on Sunday.
BNP candidate Jahangir Alam Mazumder organized a press conference at noon in upazila BNP office and declared his boycott decision.
“I have filed separate allegations to the Returning Officer demanding re-election in 11 voting centers,” said Jahangir.
“Miscreants beaten up me and driven out all my polling agents from the poling centers. Then Awami League leaders and activists openly entered into the voting centers and given seal boat symbol smoothly, ” said the BNP candidate.
Nangolkot UNO and Returning Officer Saidul Arif said, “We accepted BNP candidate’s complain and checking the authenticity of the allegation.”
