BNP claims, Govt involvement behind Comilla arson attack
4 February 2015, Nirapad News: After the deadly bomb attack in Comilla, the BNP-led 20-party alliance has alleged that the government is involved in subversive activities in a bid to blame opposition and to divert people’s attention.
In a press release Tuesday evening, the alliance strongly condemned the attack that left seven people dead and 16 burnt at Chauddagram upazila of the district.
The petrol bomb attack took place on the 29th day of the countrywide nonstop blockade and the third day of 72-hour hartal enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
In the press release, BNP Joint Secretary General Salahuddin Ahmed demanded exemplary punishment to those involved in every such incident.
“The government is applying brutal strategy to present opposition’s ongoing democratic movement as violent one before the international community and is thus receiving their sympathy for this illegal government,” the statement read.
