BNP-Jamaat could not create barricade
17 May 2015, Nirapad News: Railways Minister M Mazibul Haque said the BNP-Jamaat alliance could not create any barricade to disrupt the government’s development programs.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a function in the city’s Bangabandhu Avenue. Marking Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s 34th homecoming day, Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote organized the discussion with its acting president noted actor Akbar Hossain Pathan Faruque in the chair.
The minister said the BNP-Jamaat alliance could not thwart the country’s development by hatching conspiracy.
The country’s economy is moving forward under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he said. The discussion was also addressed, among others, by General Secretary of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote Falguni Hamid, Habibur Rahman Habib, vice president Dany Siter and Dilara Yeasmin.
Referring to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s destructive activities, Mazibul said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina brought rail coaches from abroad, while Khaleda Zia destroyed and torched railway properties.
So the nation would elect Sheikh Hasina again in the next general election by rejecting Khaleda, he said. The minister said the May 17, 1981 is a historic day for the nation, because on that day Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s daughter Sheikh Hasina returned to Bangladesh.
“She took the leadership of the leaderless nation and formed government three times by brining Awami League under an umbrella and helped restore democracy and the values of the Liberation War in the country,” he said.
Mazibul said Bangladesh won maritime boundary case with India and Myanmar only because of Sheikh Hasina’s return from abroad. Not only that India passed the Land Boundary Agreement in their parliaments due to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s political vision.
She also completed trial of Bangabandhu’s murder case and are holding the trial of war criminal cases step by step.
