BNP leader Rizvi on remand again
16 February 2015, Nirapad News: A court in Dhaka on Monday placed BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on a three-day fresh remand in connection with a case filed under the Explosive Substance Act.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Maruf Hossain passed the order rejecting the bail prayer Rizvi’s counsel Sanaullah Miah. Mohammad Bashir Ahmed, sub-inspector of DB police and also the investigation officer of the case produced him before the court seeking a 10-day remand on expiry of his five-day remand in Jatrabari arson case which was filed on January 24.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel arrested BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi from a house at Baridhara in the city on January 31. On February 10, a court placed Rizvi on a five-day remand, according to a news agency.
