BNP man among 2 remanded in Kunio murder case
6 October 2015, Nirapad News: A Rangpur court on Tuesday placed two suspected persons including a BNP leader on 10 days’ remand in a case relating to the murder of Japanese national Kunio Hoshi.
Those who remanded are Rangpur metropolitan unit BNP activist Rashedun Nabi Khan Biplob and Hira, 48, the brother in-law of Kunio’s house owner Zakaria Bala.
Police detained six persons including the duo on October 3, the day of the killing, for interrogation.
After primary interrogation, police produced them before the court of Rangpur Senior Judicial Magistrate Abu Taleb with 10 days’ remand prayers.
The court, after hearing the remand petition, granted police 10 days for questioning Biplob and Hira.
Japanese citizen Kunio Hoshi was gunned down by armed assailants at Alutari village in Kaunia upazila of Rangpur on October 3.
