BNP to hold countrywide protest rallies Dec 30
BNP will hold countrywide protest rallies on 30 December protesting the second anniversary of the 11th parliamentary elections.
The party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam announced the demonstration at a press conference at the party chairperson’s Gulshan office on Monday.
Demanding re-election, Fakhrul said, “Upcoming December 30 is a scandalous day. People of Bangladesh will observe the day with grievance and hate. All district and metropolitan units will stage demonstration at 11.00am across the country while Dhaka metropolitan south and north units hold protest in front of National Press Club in the morning demanding re-election.”
The decision of holding protest was taken at a virtual meeting of BNP’s standing committee members with its acting chairperson Tarique Rahman in the chair on December 19.
About vaccine collection and distribution, Fakhrul said though the government has announced the process of coronavirus vaccine import and distribution but it is not clear to common people.
Process of vaccine collection, preservation and distribution should be given the utmost priority, he added.
