BNP to take street for reply after council : Hafiz
27 February 2015, Nirapad News: BNP vice chairman M Hafizuddin Ahmed has said his party will give a reply on the streets after its council to those who have been maligning it.
Speaking at a discussion on Saturday in Dhaka, he said, “Many are belittling the BNP by saying that it has no strength to be active on the streets.”
Ahmed, a vice-chairman of the party, said its leaders and activists would be active to unseat “this fascist government in the interest of the people and for the development of the country.”
His statement came against a background of ruling Awami League leaders expressing doubts about the BNP’s ability to wage an anti-government movement.
The BNP leader accused the government of indulging in plunder and claimed that ruling party leaders were involved in recent bankcard fraud scams.
He alleged that the ruling quarters were obstructing the BNP in holding its next council.
Ahmed also alleged that the Election Commission was ‘acting for the ruling party candidates’ at the union council elections.
Zia Nagorik Forum (ZINAF) organised the discussion at the National Press Club.
