BNP’s Jhenidah rally postponed
Nirapad News: Due to heavy fog and a cold wave in the area the BNP-led 20-party alliance has postponed its Jhenidah rally, which was scheduled for December 23 .
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, also head of the alliance, was due to address the rally garnering people’s support in favour of her demand for immediate general elections under a nonpartisan administration and in protest against the government-sponsored abduction, enforced disappearances and killings.
“Khaleda Zia herself has canceled the schedule due to the heavy fog and a cold wave,” Sayrul Kabir Khan, a media wing staff of the BNP chairperson, told The Daily Star Online.
She will fix a fresh date for the rally after holding a meeting with her party’s policymakers, he added.
