BNP’s ongoing programmes are worthless: Muhith
24 February 2015, Nirapad News: Finance Minister AMA Muhith has termed BNP’s agitation program, including the ongoing blockade and Hartals, as “worthless.”
He said: “These worthless program will be stopped in a short time.”
The minister made the remarks while talking to journalists after a meeting with Vice-president of the World Bank for South Asia Region Annette Dixon at his secretariat office on Tuesday.
Referring to recent casualties caused by the recent political unrest, he said: “The casualty toll has been decreased in the rural areas. But, the number has been increased in the capital in recent days.”
“The situation will be brought under control soon.”
He also claimed that the ongoing blockade and Hartals would not cast any adverse impact on the goal of eradicating extreme poverty from Bangladesh by 2018.
Regarding the meeting agenda, the Finance minister said they discussed on several World Bank projects in Bangladesh.
