Bomb explosion injures 25 in West Bengal
12 May 2015, Nirapad News: At least 25 people were injured in bomb explosion in a running train during early hours today in West Bengal. Critically Injured seven passengers have been admitted to a local hospital. Rail Police has initiated the probe over the blast.
According to Rail Police sources, the incident occurred when Up Krishnanagar local was going to Barrackpur leaving Titagarh station in North 24 Paragana district.
The train was on the Sealdah main section and was the first morning local.
Titagarh is about 30 km from Kolkata. The blast took place soon after the train left the station for Khardaha station, police said.
Police, fire brigade and railway rescue teams have rushed to the spot. Train services on the Sealdah-Barrackpore of the main suburban section have been suspended.
Police sources said preliminary reports indicated that the blast was a low-intensity one and could have taken place accidentally while some explosive was being carried in a bag by some passengers.
