Bullet train between Dhaka-Chattogram by 2022: Mujibul
12 April 2018, Nirapad News: Railway Minister Mujibul Hoque today said that the new high-speed bullet train is expected to introduce between the capital city Dhaka and second largest city Chattogram by 2022 at a cost of Taka 32 thousand crore.
He said the government has been trying to operate the bullet train from Dhaka to Chattogram via Laksham to reduce time on the way.
“The commuters of Dhaka and Chattogram would be able to travel between the two cities within two and a half hours after introduction of the bullet train” he told the concluding ceremony of the month long Chittagong International Trade Fair (CITF) at Bangabandhu conference hall of world trade center here this afternoon.
The minister said construction of 156 years long cherished Dohazari-Gumdum-Cox’s bazaar dual gauge rail line will start soon as construction of 52 out of 57 new rail bridges under Chattogram-Dohazari Rail line has already been completed.
With CCCI President Mahabubul Alam in the chair, it was addressed, among others, by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Delwar Hossain, CCCI directors and entrepreneurs.
