Call for making juveniles interested about politics: Dr Shirin
21 March 2016, Nirapad News: Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad and executive chairperson of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury today urged world leaders to educate those juveniles who are interested about politics and parliamentary democracy.
She made the call while addressing at 134th assembly of Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) that was held in at Gambian capital in Lusaka, according to a message received here.
At present, she said, the world’s one fifth population is juvenile and youth, but we have seen that there is lack of interest among them to contemporary politics. The speaker said if we could not create attention of meritorious one into politics than it would not be possible to reach success of politics to the doorstep of commoners.
This year, Shirin Sharmin said, a road show programme inaugurated from Bangladesh in this respect for encouraging juveniles about politics and parliamentary democracy.
A 15-member Bangladesh delegation headed by speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury is taking part in five-day conference in Lusaka which will conclude by March 23 next.
