Cashed by cops, youth falls off wall, dies in Panchagarh
10 November 2015, Nirapad News:A young man died as he fell from a wall while scaling it after being chased by police at Sonar Bangla Patrol Pump in Boda upazila on Monday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Shahjahan, 24, son of Mokbul Hossain of West Bhasainagar area in the upazila.
Witnesses said some people were engaged in gambling near the petrol pump in the afternoon.
Seeing a patrol team of police on the site, the gamblers tried to flee the scene.
Sensing the gamblers’ presence, police chased them off and arrested five gamblers.
At one stage, being chased by police, Shahjahan attempted to scale the boundary wall of the petrol pump, fell down on the ground and died on the spot.
Later the arrested were produced before a mobile court and the court led by assistant commissioner (land) AWM Raihan Shah fined them Tk 100 each.
Officer-in-charge of Boda police station Abul Kalam Azad confirmed the incident.
