CBI arrests principal secretary of Delhi govt in bribery case
09 December 2015, Nirapad News: Principal secretary of Delhi government and his personal assistant were detained on Tuesday night by the CBI for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2.2 lakh from a manpower supplier, a spokesperson of the agency said.
The CBI move came just a few days after the Delhi assembly passed the Janlokpal Bill, described by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal as the “strongest” anti-graft legislation in the country.
The accused Sanjay Pratap Singh, Principal Secretary, Department of SC, ST and Minorities, and his personal assistant were arrested after the complainant approached Chief Minister’s office. Singh is an IAS officer of 1984 batch.
