City dwellers start feeling bite of winter
20 December 2015, Nirapad News: The city dwellers have started feeling the bite of winter following drizzle this morning.
A mild cold wave has started to sweep across the country from Thursday, causing a disruption of normal day-to-day routine of the people especially in the northern region of the country.
The city dwellers were found rushing market for winter clothes.
According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in the capital was 24.4 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature 11.5 degrees Celsius today.
The mild cold wave will continue to sweep for two or three more days, said a Met office official.
“Mild cold wave is sweeping over the regions of Dinajpur and Nilphamari and it may spread over rest part of Rangpur division and some regions of Rajshahi, Khulna and Dhaka divisions,” the Met office said in it its today’s forecast.
Light rain/drizzle is likely to occur at one or two places over Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions and weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country Moderate to thick fog may occur at places over the river basins and light to moderate fog may occur at places elsewhere over the country during mid night till morning, according to the Met office.
Night temperature may fall by 1-3 Celsius and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
