Communist party leader shot to dead
26 January 2015, Nirapad News: A regional commander of outlawed Purba Bangla Communist Party (Sarbohara) was shot dead by the rival group at Gandhappur village of Hugra union in Sadar upazila this morning.
The deceased was Abdul Haque, 40, son of Haider Ali of Dumnibari village of the upazila.
A gang of 10-12 masked men swooped on Badiuzzaman while he was chatting in a shop at Jugni bazar around 9.45pm. The assailants chopped and shot Bodiuzzaman, leaving him dead on the spot and fled the scene. Badiuzzaman was wanted in 15 cases, including murders, said Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Tangail thana.
Locals rushed him to Tangail Medical College Hospital in critical condition where attending doctors declared him dead.
Different cases were pending against him in the police station.
