High Court on Sunday issued a rule upon the government

15 February 2015, Nirapad News: The High Court on Sunday issued a rule upon the government asking why directives should not be given to provide Tk 30 lakh in compensation to the family of minor boy Jihad who died after falling into a deep-tubewell shaft at Shajahanpur in the capital on December 26, 2014.

An High Court bench comprising Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Kazi M Ejarul Haque Akanda issued the rule in response to a writ petition.

The HC bench also sought an explanation from the government as to why the negligence of the government, WASA, fire service, railway and Dhaka City Corporation in rescuing Jihad should not be declared illegal.

Advocate Abdul Halim on behalf of Children’s Charity Bangladesh Foundation, filed the writ petition on December 28 with the High Court, seeking its directives upon the government to give Tk 30 lakh as compensation to Jihad’s family.
