Cops likely to seek 10-day remand for Manna
25 February 2015, Nirapad News: Police are likely seek a 10-day remand for Nagarik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna when he will be produced before court here on Wednesday afternoon.
Inspector (investigation) of Gulshan Police Station Firoz said they will seek a 10-day remand for Manna as sub-inspector Barik, also the investigation officer of the case, will produce him before the court.
Earlier, sub-inspector Sohel Rana of Gulshan Police Station filed a case against Manna under section 131 of Bangladesh Penal Code on Tuesday with the police station.
While talking to reporters at the DMP media centre, joint commissioner (Detective Branch) Monirul Islam said members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Manna from Dhanmondi near ‘Star Kabab’ around 10:30 pm on Tuesday night.
Nearly 21 hours after he was picked up by plainclothes lawmen from a house at Banani early Tuesday, RAB confirmed the arrest of Manna and handed him over to Gulshan Police Station.
