Country needs well-educated human resource: Nahid
17 March 2016, Nirapad News: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said the country needs well-educated human resource for the development and asked the universities to ensure time-befitting education for preparing students as skilled human resource.
“The main objective of education is to prepare students with modern education and technology and the universities need to carry out this responsibility properly,” the education minister said while speaking at the 4th convocation of State University of Bangladesh (SUB) here today.
A total 1855 students received degrees in the convocation. Fifteen students got Chancellor’s award while 35 students Deans’ Award. University Grants Commission Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan delivered the convocation speech. SUB Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iftekher Gani Chowdhury and Dr A M Shamim attended it, among others.
Nurul Islam Nahid urged the universities to intensify research activities. He also said there is scope to recruit more qualified teachers in private universities.
