Country progressing towards democracy, good governance: Inu
06 February 2015, Nirapad News: Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, MP, said today that the country was progressing towards democracy and good governance under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“There will be no place for war criminals, Razakars and arsonists in Bangladesh”, he said.
The minister was speaking as chief guest at the inaugural session of the district conference of his party, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASHOD), here.
Inu said that the country had become independent through the sacrifice of millions of people under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and nobody would be allowed to tinker with it. “A nation that does not honor its heroes cannot progress,” he said.
“Our party stands for eliminating militancy and ensuring development without disparity, “he said.
“I’m not neutral. I stand for democracy, the Liberation War and egalitarianism, “he added.
The inaugural session was held at the Shaheed Dr Abul Kashem Maidan under the chairmanship of Abul Khair Md. Shakhawat Hossain, president of the local chapter of JASHOD.
Others who spoke at the function included general secretary of JASHOD, Sharif Nurul Ambia, Shirin Akhter, MP, Organizing Secretary Karim Sikder and other local leaders of the party.
