Cox’s Bazar Development Authority bill 2015 in JS

11 November 2015, Nirapad News: With a target to ensure planned development in Cox’s Bazar as a tourist city, the “Cox’s Bazar Development Authority Bill 2015” was placed in the House today.
Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain placed the bill saying, “If the proposed law is enacted, a massive and planned development will be ensured in Cox’s Bazar that would be able to preserve its natural beauty and provide civic privileges in a proper manner.”
Earlier, the cabinet approved the bill on July 6 this year.
As per the draft law, there would be a 15-member Cox’s Bazar development authority comprising a female member, the deputy commissioner, superintendent of police and mayor of Cox’s Bazar and 11 non-permanent members. The government will appoint its chairman and three permanent members.
The bill was sent to the concerned parliamentary standing committee and asked to submit its final report by 30 days.
