Cricketer Shahadat sent to jail
13 October 2015, Nirapad News: A Dhaka court on Tuesday ordered to send cricketer Shahadat Hossain to jail rejecting his bail prayer.
Metropolitan Magistrate Qazi Qamrul Islam passed the order after Shahadat was produced before his court on completion of three-day remand.
On October 8, the national cricketer was placed on a three-day remand in a case filed for torturing his domestic help.
Shahadat’s wife Jesmin Jahan Nrittya was also sent to jail in the same case.
Mahfuza Akhter Happy, 11, the domestic help of Shahadat, was rescued on a road in Sangbadik Colony area at Pallabi of the city with severe injuries.
Happy claimed that Shahadat Hossain and his wife tortured her.
On September 7, journalist Kahndkar Mojammel Hossain filed a case against Shahadat and her wife with Mirpur Model Police Station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act – 2000.
