Critics think Kelly Brook will do anything for fame as she stripped naked in new TV show
Nirapad News : Critics think Kelly Brook will do anything for fame in the US, which is why she stripped off in new sitcom One Big Happy.
The show, in which she plays a Brit whose partner is having a baby with his lesbian friend, has been ripped to shreds in the first reviews after it premiered Tuesday night in America.
Valley News wrote in its review: “The writers are taking advantage of Brook’s willingness to do anything. In one of the early episodes, her character appears to be naked.”
The New York Times also said: “‘Genitals and breasts, to the writers, are hilarious. Lame double-entendres about gay sex, straight sex and bra size are everywhere.”
Kelly, 35, previously explained how she ‘motor-boated’ actress Elisha Cuthbert in her first audition to help her get the role of Prudence.#
The beauty explained: “I just kind of went over and put her head between my boobs and I think that just made Liz (Feldman, the creator) die laughing because of the height difference and how confident I was to grab this famous actress, that I’d never met before, and shove her head in my boobs.”
The show, produced by TV host Ellen DeGeneres, aired after months of hype and an advert during the Super Bowl and Ellen admitted she Kelly was naked when she first met her on set.
“You don’t care if anyone sees you naked, which is the first way I met you,” the host said.
“You were naked. Completely. And we pixilated it for the show, but you’re literally walking around naked for that scene. Which was quite shocking to walk in and see someone walking around naked like that.”
Blushing, Kelly replied: “Well I was comfortable with Elisha seeing me, but I’d not met you yet.
“And so my cue is the door opening and I’m thinking I’m gonna see Elisha and when I turned around Ellen’s standing there. She’s like, ‘Where am I in this scene?’ And I just screamed.”
Despite being bold enough to bare all in the show, viewers were less than impressed with Kel’s performance.
An IGN reviewer wrote: “The problem is, there isn’t much chemistry between Zano and Brook, so it’s hard to buy them as doting newlyweds.
“Alas the jokes are so bad and the plotting so formulaic that you all but forget the unique setup.
“It doesn’t help that One Big Happy crams in a laugh track to make us think the jokes are funnier than they are.
“It’s almost unsettling how even the most paltry lines are met with hysterical cackles.”
They summed up the show by saying: “NBC’s One Big Happy boasts an original premise and a good cast, but it’s marred by obvious jokes, dull plotting and a grating laugh track.”
The San Francisco Chronicle added: “There’s nothing funny about One Big Happy, the performances are wooden and irritating.”
