Deal with India tomorrow for Taka 64-crore grant for 3 projects
8 April 2018, Nirapad News: The government of India will provide a sum of around Taka 64 crore as grant to Bangladesh for the implementation of three small projects in primary education, CHT region and for improvement of road infrastructures.
“India will provide Taka 64 crore grant assistance to Bangladesh against three projects and the grant agreements are likely to be signed on Monday,” an official at the Economic Relations Division (ERD) told BSS here today.
The official informed that ERD Secretary Kazi Shofiqul Azam and Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Harsh Vardhan Shringla are likely to ink the instruments at the State Guest House, Padma in the capital tomorrow afternoon.
The ERD official said out of the three projects, India will provide Taka 25 crore for the ‘Establishment of computer and language labs in 509 primary schools in Bangladesh’ under which computers, necessary accessories and furniture would be provided to 509 selected primary schools.
Apart from this, Taka 13.92 crore Indian grant will be utilized for the “Setting up of Chattagram Hill Tracts community complex” project under which a complex would be built in Rangamati having an institute and an auditorium.
Besides, the Indian government will provide Taka 25 crore for the “Rehabilitation and improvement of different roads under Rangpur City Corporation” project to improve the road infrastructures in Rangpur city.
