Death toll rises to 3 in Badda shooting
15 August 2015, Nirapad News: One more Awami League leader succumbed to his injuries at a city hospital on Friday raising death toll to three in Badda shootout of Thursday night in the capital.
The deceased was identified as Mahbubur Rahman Gama. Badda Thana Officer-in-Charge MA Jalil confirmed the matter to banglanews.
On Thursday night, two AL men were shot to death and two others injured in a sudden attack of criminals in city’s Badda area.
The deceased were identified as Shamsuddin Molla and Feroz Ahmed Manik while the injured are Abdus Salam and Mahbubur Rahman Gama.
Shamsu Molla was a leader of local ward unit Awami League and Salam and Gama are the leaders of Swechchhasebak League, said sources.
Injured Salam and Gama were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Describing the incident, bullet-hit Salam said that he and four others were gossiping in front of Madhuban Bakery at Adarsha Nagar link road. Two to three criminals came and opened firing, leaving four injured.
Additional police commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Sheikh Maruf Hasan said motive of the killing is not clear, we hope that killers will be brought to book soon.
