Delhi for defeating terrorism, extremism unitedly
10 December 2015, Nirapad News: Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said that it is the collective duty of nations to ensure that the forces of terrorism and extremism do not find sanctuaries and safe havens in any name, form or manifestation.
Addressing the Heart of Asia (HoA) Conference on Afghanistan in Islamabad, Sushma also said it is time for New Delhi and Pakistan to display maturity and self-confidence to do business with each other.
She said India is prepared to move the cooperation at a pace which Pakistan is comfortable with, a press release of Indian External Affairs Ministry said here.
Swaraj also underlined India’s commitment to the stability and development of Afghanistan. She finished her address by inviting the delegates of the Conference to the 6th Ministerial of the HoA Istanbul Process which will be held in India next year.
Earlier, Heart of Asia conference was inaugurated by Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Islamabad.
Nawaz Sharif called for a collective approach to combat terrorism.
The Pakistan prime minister welcomed the delegates and promised full support to all efforts for increasing peace in the region with the emphasis on stabilizing Afghanistan.
The conference is being attended by foreign ministers of several countries including Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. It aims at intensifying efforts for regional linkages and to promote peace and stability in war-torn Afghanistan.
