Derailed teachers to be brought under surveillance: Nahid
27 December 2016, Nirapad News: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid today said the derailed teachers, who will keep any confection with militants and terrorist groups, should be brought under surveillance.
“The counseling of teachers along with students is must as none can misguide them in the name of religion”, he said.
The minister was addressing a conference of teachers on ‘Congenial Environment of Education: Militancy free Campus’ at Krishibid Institution at Farmgate Khamarbari in the city.
Nahid said an evil force pushed the country into darkness after the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and most of his family members in 1975.
“But, when the country is moving ahead overcoming all hurdles, the evil force is again hatching conspiracy to turn Bangladesh into a militant country,” he added.
The minister underscored the need for increasing cultural activities along with the academic curriculum to root out the militancy from the country.
Director General of Secondary and Higher Education Directorate Professor Dr S M Wahiduzzaman, Secretary of Secondary Education and University Department Sohrab Hossain, acting Secretary of Technical and Madrasah Education Department Mohammad Alamgir and Chairman of Dhaka Education Board Professor Mahbubur Rahman addressed the function, among others.
