Dhaka University teachers protest Manna’s speech
25 February 2015, Nirapad News: Nearly 800 teachers of Dhaka University today expressed their deep worries over the leaked audio clip of Mahmudur Rahman Manna saying his comments proved he actually was plotting against the country in the guise of a civil society figure.
“Manna’s conspiracy to create a volatile situation on Dhaka University campus capturing the dormitories even at the cost of some lives made us anxious,” they said in a statement signed by 778 faculties of the premier university.
The teachers said the leaked conversation of Manna, the convenor of Nagarik Oikya forum, drew their attention which suggested that he was part of a deep conspiracy against the “country, the pro-Liberation forces and the government”.
“It now appeared true like broad daylight that in the cover of civil society he (Manna) was instigating the violent unrest being spearheaded by the BNP-Jamaat for the nearly past two months,” the statement read.
They termed Manna as an “enemy of the country” and demanded him to be immediately exposed to justice for the sake of the country.
In another statement, DU Employees Association also demanded exemplary punishment of Manna for his “conspiracy to create unrest on Dhaka University and instigate bloodshed on the campus”.
