Dilshan, Sangakkara tons power SL to 332
26 February 2015, Nirapad News: Tillakaratne Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara gave Bangladesh a proper first run around the Melbourne Cricket Ground. They made merry, particularly Sangakkara who reached his 22nd ODI hundred in the final over of the innings, in his 400th ODI. Sri Lanka lost just one wicket as they piled on 332 runs in their 50 overs.
Bangladesh’s fielding display betrayed the confidence they gathered after beating Afghanistan and gaining a point out of the abandoned game against Australia. Two sitters were dropped and a stumping missed but the poor overall fielding stuck out like a sore thumb. On a pitch that offered very little to the bowlers, Bangladesh made it harder for themselves.
They have also often struggled to contain Dilshan and Sangakkara and it was no different on this occasion. The pair added 210 runs for the unbroken second wicket in just 25.3 overs, as Bangladesh conceded their 37th 300-plus score.
