Dipan’s killers to be tried quickly: Law Minister
02 November 2015, Nirapad News: Law Minister Anisul Huq on Sunday promised a prompt trial of the killers of Jagriti Prokashani proprietor Faisal Arefin Dipan.
“A highly expert team will be engaged in the probe into Dipan’s murder incident. We’ll surely take the right measures for ensuring a speedy trial of those to be found guilty after the investigation,” he said.
The minister came up with the assurance while talking to reporters after attending a conference of judges at Judicial Administration Training Institute in the city.
Mentioning that he has no suitable word to express his sorrow over Dipan’s murder, Anisul said an expert enquiry team has already started working to unfold the motive behind the killing and identify the attackers. “The experiences of those investigated such incidents earlier will also be used here.”
The minister said he talked to the Home Minister over the incident and he informed him that efforts are on to quickly track down the attackers.
He urged the country’s people to help the investigators by providing information if they have any about the incident and the attackers.
Asked whether such killings are being repeatedly taken place for the culture of impunity, Anisul said it takes time a bit to unearth the mystery of such a secrete killing. “If we get the necessary time, we’ll ensure exemplary punishment of the perpetrators after identifying them through the investigations.”
Publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan was stabbed to death by miscreants on the 2nd floor of Aziz Super Market in the city’s Shahbagh area on Saturday, after an attack on another publisher and two writers in the city’s Lalmatia earlier in the day.
