Extortionist hacker Fahad denied bail
02 November 2015, Nirapad News: A Dhaka court on Monday rejected bail petition of the extortionist hacker Abdullah Al Fahad, who was nabbed under prevention of cyber crime law on October 27.
Metropolitan magistrate Aminul Haque ordered to send him back to jail denying the bail petition filed by defense lawyer Advocate Belal Hossain.
Advocate Belal stood for bail petition while advocate Mobinul Islam opposed the bail.
Earlier on October 28, Judge Atiqur Rahman of CMM court of Dhaka placed the accused Fahad on a two-day remand.
Recently, Fahad demanded Taka 1-lakh from a news portal by hacking. The extortion money was demanded by an email.
Searching the email Rab-4 caught him at 11:00am on October 27.
Rab-4 officer Wares nabbed Fahad from Uttara of the capital. At initial interrogation Fahad admitted his involvement in extortion.
Fahad was picked up by Rab-4 in connection with a case filed with Bhatara police station by banglanews authorities, told Wares.
The extortionist hacker has been found involved with various kinds of cyber offences including extortion and fraudulent activities.
Another Rab official of intelligence department said that proofs were available about the cyber crimes committed by Abdullah Fahad at different times.
Fahad, 21, is a student of second year of computer science in IUBAT. His father is now working in defense services. He is living in Uttara, he said.
Before hacking , Fahad tried to extort money from different organizations giving threats of hacking their web sites.
The case was instituted under ICT Act 56.
