Fakhrul sent back to jail
09 February 2015, Nirapad News: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir back to jail after scrapping his bail and remand petitions in an arson case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Muhammad Assaduzzaman Nur passed the order on Monday afternoon.
The court ordered the investigation officer of the case to question the BNP leader at jail gate within 10 days.
Earlier in the day, the IO produced Fakhrul before the court with a 10-day remand plea.
Meanwhile, the defense lawyer filed a bail petition with the court.
The case filed in connection with an arson attack in the capital’s Paltan on January 5.
Former BNP lawmakers Nazim Uddin and Ashraf Uddin Nizam were placed on a five-day remand in the same case on February 5.
