Fakhrul’s bail order on receiving medical report

08 July 2015, Nirapad News: The Supreme Court on Wednesday did not pass order on the petitions filed by the government challenging the High Court order that granted bail to BNP leader Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in three cases.

A four-member panel of the Appelate Division, headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, refrained from passing the order as the court is yet to receive the medical report on Fakhrul’s health.

The Chief Justice said that the court will pass order after getting the report.

Mirza Fakhrul woud not get release from jail until the SC grants him bail.

On July 5, the Apex Court asked the authorities of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital to form a three-member medical board to examine the health condition of Alamgir and to submit their report by July 8 (Wednesday).

The HC granted bail to Fakhrul on June 21, in the three cases filed with Paltan Police Station on January 4, 5 and 7 under exclusive substances act 1908.

The BNP leader was arrested on January 6 from in front of National Press Club and is now in the prison cell of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital.
