Falu gets bail, Barrister Rafiqul among 28 face arrest warrant
08 July 2015, Nirapad News: A Dhaka court Wednesday granted bail to BNP chairperson’s advisor Mosaddek Ali Falu in the case filed under special power act and explosives case.
Earlier in the morning, Falu surrendered before the court and sought bail.
After hearing the bail petition, judge of Dhaka Senior Special Tribunal Kamrul Hossain Molla passed the order.
Besides, the court issued warrant for arrest 28 fugitives, including BNP standing committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, in the cases.
Falu and Papia were granted bail by court while two others, including joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, are in jail.
Defense lawyer Joynul Abedin Mezbah confirmed the news of issuing the arrest warrant.
On April 28, police pressed charges against 32 leaders and activists of BNP men, including joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and chairperson’s adviser Mosaddek Ali Falu in a case filed under special power act.
The charge includes BNP Standing Committee Member barrister Rafiqul Islam Miah and its Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Mosaddek Ali Falu, her Special Assistant Shamsur Rahman alias Shimul Biswas, Joint Secretary General Amanullah Aman, Press Secretary Maruf Kamal Khan, central Jubo Dal General Secretary Saiful Islam Nirob and Swechhasebok Dal President Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel.
Sub-Inspector of Police Rafikul Islam, also the investigation officer (IO) of the case, submitted the charge sheet to Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday noon.
Earlier on January 28, the case was filed against them with Mirpur police station.
