FDI from India jumped in FY15
28 November 2015, Nirapad News: Net inflow of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from India to Bangladesh increased by 45.52 per cent in the last fiscal year 2014-15 (FY15).
Statistics available with Bangladesh Bank revealed that FDI from India stood at $82.79 million in FY15 which was $56.89 in FY14.
Of the total FDI worth $82.79 million, some $64.55 million has come as reinvested earnings of the existing Indian companies in Bangladesh while $7.16 million as intra-company loans.
Thus, in last fiscal year, fresh investment from India was only $11.08 million, according to the central bank statistics.
Inflow of FDI from India was $27.88 million in FY12 which jumped to $42.09 million in FY13.
