Fire at residential building in the city, 12 injured

18 March 2016, Nirapad News: A fire broke out at a residential building in Banani area in city at the wee hours of Friday (March 18).
The fire broke out at the 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 7th floor of the house no-9 on road no-23 of the area around 1:45am.
Thirteen units of fire service brought the blaze under control after frantically trying for over one and half hours.
At least 25 people were stranded on the roof of the house. Of them, 12 were reportedly injured. Three of them sustained burn injuries.
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayor Annisul Huq also visited the spot.
Intensity of the fire started decreasing after the Titas Gas officials cut off the line around 2:45am.
Mayor Annisul Huq told journalists that the fire service workers brought the blaze under control and all the stranded were rescued from the house.
Fire service director (operations) Major AKM Shakil Shahnewaz said three sustained burn injuries in the incident.
Fire service workers suspected that the fire might have originated from gas pipeline leakage.
