Fish trader stabbed ‘by partners’ in Chandpur
08 November 2015, Nirapad News: Partners allegedly stabbed a fish trader and cut off the tendon of one of his legs following a dispute over sharing business money in sadar upazila on Saturday night.
They attackers later threw the injured into the Dakatia river beside Chandpur-Raipur road near Chandpur Bridge area.
The victim was identified as Mohammad Shamim, 35, a fish trader and son of Alamgir Hossain of Kaptai upazila of Chittagong district.
Sources at Chandpur Model Police Station said Shamim had an altercation with his two business partners–Pias and Nirob– over sharing business money as they demanded Tk one lakh instead of Tk30,000 around 11 pm in the area.
At one stage, Pias and Nirob stabbed Shamim with a sharp weapon and threw him into Dakatia river after severing the tendon of his left leg.
Meanwhile, Shamim managed to swim ashore and became unconscious.
Babul, a local fisherman, rescued him from the bank of the river and rushed him to Chandpur General Hospital.
Police are investigating the incident and trying to arrest the attackers, said Sub-inspector of Chandpur Model Police Station Shamim.
