Five-day Bangladeshi food festival ends tomorrow in Yangon
19 May 2015, Nirapad News: The five-day Bangladesh food festival in Myanmar capital Yangon will be ended tomorrow.
Bangladesh Embassy in Yangon organized the first ever food festival featuring authentic Bangladeshi cuisine at prestigious Sedona Hotel, according to a message received here today.
The objective of the food festival is to introduce culinary heritage of Bangladesh as part of the initiative to connect with Myanmar people, it said.
Union Deputy Minister, Ministry of Culture of Myanmar U Than Swe formally inaugurated the festival on May 15.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Myanmar Sufiur Rahamn addressed the opening ceremony attended by a host of dignitaries including several Ministers of Yangon Region diplomatic communities, local elites, media and Bangladesh community representatives.
A live music rendition of Tagore and Nazrul songs were also performed by local Bangladeshi singers during the festival.
