Former DU teacher Anisur Rahman dies

18 May 2015, Nirapad News: Anisur Rahman, a former teacher of the Mass Communication and Journalism Department of Dhaka University, died of cardiac arrest at his family residence at Toiasar village in Chouddogram upazila of Comilla district early Monday. He was 55.
Anisur Rahman died of cardiac arrest in his sleep sometime between 12am and 6am, according to the doctor.
Earlier on Saturday, Anisur was admitted to Comilla Medical College Hospital (CMCH) with serious illness caused by an infection in the thigh, and then on Sunday noon shifted to Bangladesh Institute of Research and Rehabilitation of Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders (BIRDEM) Hospital in Dhaka on Sunday noon.
However, as the officials of BIRDEM Hospital declined to admit Anisur, the family member took him back to his village home at Taiasar village on Sunday afternoon, where he died a few hours later in his sleep.
Anisur joined the Mass Communication and Journalism Department of DU as a lecture in 1882, after obtaining his postgraduate degree from the same department in the previous year.
He left the department in 1989. The deceased is survived by his wife.
