Four killed in Sylhet road crash

Four people including a child were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a microbus on the Sylhet-Zakiganj road of Golapganj upazila in the district today.

Among the deceased three were identified as Rajon Ahmed, 27, son of Kunu Miah, Sumon Ahmed, 25, son of Abdul Jolil of Charkhai area in Beanibazar upazila and Hasan Ahmed, 8, son of Monju Miah of Fulbari in Golapganj upazila of the district.

Identity of the other deceased could not be known immediately.

Officer-in-Charge of Golapganj Police Station Harunur Rashid said the accident took place in front of Mullargaon Govt High School at around 5.30 am when the gas cylinder of the microbus exploded after a head-on collision between the two vehicles.

Four passengers of the microbus died on the spot and three others injured due to large fire caused by the gas-cylinder explosion.

Three injured were admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
