Four more held over Bogra mosque firing
28 November 2015, Nirapad News: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police detained four more people, including principal of a madrasa for interrogation over the firing at a mosque at Shibganj upazila in Bogra district.
With the four, law enforcers have detained a total of six persons for their alleged involvement in the attack.
RAB-12 Bogra camp squad commander senior assistant police super M Mofizul Islam informed the matter to banglanews on Saturday afternoon.
They were picked up on suspicion for interrogation on Friday evening.
The detainees are Moulana Shamsul Alam, 60, principal of Emdadul Ulum Kawmi Madrasa, Minhaj, 18, son of Hafizar Rahman, Shahinur, 21, son of Abul Hossain and Rahman Miam 28, son of Abul Kalam of Shibganj upazila.
District detective police Officer-in-charge (OC) Amirul Islam told that Moulana Shamsul Alam was sent to court showing him arrest in a case filed in the connection.
Earlier on Friday dawn, a team of police picked up Anwar, 48, and Jewel, 25, and took them to police custody.
One devotee was killed and three sustained injuries as a group of miscreants opened fire at a mosque at Shibganj on Thursday after maghrib prayers.
Later, Sona Mia, treasurer of the mosque, filed a case with Shibganj Thana in this connection.
Bogra additional police super Arifur Rahman Mandol informed the development.
