Four of a family among 5 burnt in Gas burner blast
11 October 2015, Nirapad News: Five people, including four members of a family, sustained burn injuries in gas burner explosion in Dakkhin Khan of Dhaka on Sunday morning.
The injured are Rehana Akter, 40, wife of a Saudi expatriate Abul Kashem, their daughter Afsana Akter, 19, who passed HSC from Shaheed Anwar School and College, two sons Rezwan Ahmed Shuvo, 18, intermediate second year student of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur College and Mastermind School’s sixth grader boy Tanvir Ahmed Niloy, 12 and house help Sakina, 40.
Of them, condition of Rehana, Niloy and Sakina is critical, said sources of burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
According to burn victim Shuvo, the accident took place from a gas pipeline explosion in the morning when their Sakina tried to ignite gas burner and then fire soon engulfed three rooms of the flat, leaving all of them burnt.
DMCH police outpost assistant sub-inspector Sentu Chandra Das confirmed about the incident.
